My friend set me off on this train of thought when he asked me to depict ‘Trade’ in the form of paintings. The romantic in me was immediately transported to the days of yore. Sculptures, history and trade all merged and fused together to form this Tryptech. The scenes are set in the Roman, Egyptian and Middle Eastern locales The upper half inspired from ancient sculptures merges with the lower portion on a sea of lotuses creating a common feature as if to link moments captured from history.
This set has been painstakingly fixed on wooden panels and have a coat of resin (the images below are minus the resin) which makes them look absolutely ravishing! I think they would sit right and perfect in a cool office.
